Edmonton: More to Discover
To follow-up on a post I made last month about all there was to do in Edmonton free of charge, here are more ideas for October:
- A plethora of no-cost movies, including a return of the Wednesday evening "Welcome to the Reel World" series sponsored by the University of Alberta's International Centre, a marathon documentary on Andy Warhol, and as always, the popular screenings at Stanley Milner Library.
- Lectures and learning opportunities abound as well, from the impact of the boom in Fort McMurray, ideas to encourage urban revitalization, discussions of art, to Opera 101 (unfortunately, unlike last month's poetry festival, there is nothing free to speak of happening during LitFest).
- For family-friendly entertainment, look no further than the John Walter Museum, the Scarecrow Festival (not free, but at $1.50 admission on Friday, it's nearly that), or the outdoor fun to be had at Movies on the Square.
That's all, folks!
